Accessories for Winter

Happy New Year! I hope you had a good one : )

Accessories have not always been something I tend to pay that much attention to. I still have just a very small jewellery selection, and minimal accessories in other departments.

Today I thought I’d share with you my top picks for this time of year. Obviously we can expect woolly hats and scarves in the mix, but what else do I find myself reaching for time and again?

Tartan scarf
No surprises here, my first essential accessory for Winter is a giant blanket scarf. I’ve had this one for years, it’s originally from Zara, and I believe you can still get similar styles across the high street. I love that it has a contrasting pattern on the reverse side which makes for an interesting look when worn. Most importantly, it’s super warm! And it’s huuuuge – perfect for wrapping up in!

Dainty necklaces
As a stark contrast to a thick heavy scarf, my next pick is these small dainty necklaces. I love them worn together with just about any outfit. A chunky jumper as a backdrop works really nicely with these, subtle but still there!

Wool fedora
I mean really, this is a year round favourite. It’s a nice alternative to a woolly hat, still keeps my head warm and is the more stylish option for when I need to disguise unwashed hair! I think it’s a totally classic piece which will stay in my wardrobe for years to come. Just don’t wear it on a really windy day!

Tote bag
I bought this back in the summer, and since then it’s become a firm favourite. It’s 100% leather so I know it will stand the test of time, and only get better as it ages. It’s a super simple style that goes with everything, and has plenty of room for carrying extra layers or storing hats and gloves when going inside. And who could resist that gorgeous, rich chestnut brown colour?!

Olivia Burton watch
Glyn bought me this as a birthday gift a couple of years ago, and I’ve barely taken it off since. I love the simple design and pretty rose gold detail, plus it’s actually really useful!

Wool blend pom hat
I’ve mentioned this before so I’ll keep it short and sweet. Wool blend, neutral colour and toasty warm. What more do you need from a hat?

What are your top accessory picks for this time of year?
