I honestly don’t know where the time goes these days. Our Barcelona trip was 2 weeks ago and I had every intention of sharing this post pretty sharpish, however here we are a fortnight later. Forgive me.
So the reason for our Bank Holiday adventure was to attend our friends wedding, which was on the Sunday set in a beautiful location in the hills outside Barcelona. I wanted to keep packing to an absolute minimum however with an event such as this and the weather looking fairly unpredictable this did prove quite a challenge.
In the end, here’s what I took:
All this plus toiletries and pyjamas fitted easily into my weekend bag, I just used the classic wear the bulkiest/heaviest items on the plane trick.
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen the outfits I wore as I shared them (almost) daily while I was away. If not, here’s another look:
In the end it turns out I totally over packed. My intention when planning was I’d wear the more casual looks during the day for exploring the city, and change into something a little dressier for the evening. In reality the only day this was even an option was Saturday and we chose to just stay out rather then head back to the apartment before dinner. So sadly my little red dress never got a look in on this trip. For some reason at the last minute I threw in another t-shirt as well even though I knew I probably wouldn’t need it. Still, it was quite nice to have the option!
How do you plan and pack for your trips? Is it ever a complete success? Or a total failure? Let me know your experiences!

Love your selection of items! After traveling with an excessive amount of clothing once or twice, I’ve pretty much nailed down minimal packing. However, we’re about to embark on a trip to Mexico, and I’m not the one planning the itinerary, thus I have no idea what we will be doing! I’m packing in anticipation of just about any event, which means I will sadly overpack again.

Thank you for sharing. As someone that is moving towards a minimalist wardrobe I love seeing posts about travel capsule wardrobes. It helps keep me inspired. Earlier this month I went to Paris for a girl’s trip and I utilized just a carry-on. Even just using a carry-on I still managed to overpack but I was thrilled that I didn’t feel I was missing anything. I think it was a successful first attempt.

it sounds very successful! I find it still easy to overpack but it’s a more thought out process now rather than just manically shoving everything I own in a huge case 😂
